Guinguette and musette… for a date

Chez Fifi

When we say “La Marne”, one imagines the joyful notes of an accordion playing musette, in one of these typically French popular balls called “guinguettes”. Originating at the beginning of the last century, the guinguette is still alive, especially thanks to these famous dance halls: chez Gegene, l’Ile du Martin Pecheur, Chez Fifi and La Guinguette Auvergnate. These are the places where you can find fun, dancing and white wine all at the same time.

These guinguettes are one of the very typical popular traditions of France; this is why you should not miss it when you travel to Paris. At just 40 minutes from the city centre, it is a great opportunity to take a break with a lunch-and-dance on a Sunday afternoon.

Don’t worry if you are not comfortable on your feet, the good atmosphere will easily take you to the dance floor. If you still have energy after hours of polka and walz dancing, why not finish the day at the Libertalia, on the Seine, where you can rest in this cosy piano-bar to the sound of jazz and modern music ? Enjoy !
